Vision

The New Orleans Gathering, day of fasting and prayer began in September 2007 at the request of the people of New Orleans. Thousands of Christians representing every denomination united for 8 hours of fasting and prayer at the downtown convention center. Over the past year, we have seen a unity begin to blossom among Christian leaders and take root throughout the city, with a love for all people and a common cause that is working toward establishing the Kingdom of God.

The vision of The New Orleans Gathering in 2007 was to unite the people of New Orleans through prayer. This year’s second annual prayer gathering is reaching beyond city limits into the statewide arena. The people of Louisiana who long for spiritual restoration are coming together this year to pray for the nation and lift up the Lord in a way like never before. Now is the time to gather in the scattered ones to unite with us in prayer. We have also extended this invitation to join us in prayer to our neighboring states including Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Texas. God is reviving His work in the midst of New Orleans and spreading into all directions as the nation cries out for spiritual change.

As ministers, city leaders and pastors hold weekly prayer meetings, many businesses are encouraged to begin incorporating daily prayer and Bible study as an option, 15 to 30 minutes before the business day begins.

Together we are ushering in the next move of God, building and rebuilding a “new” New Orleans.
